Tippett story of the Day
The Continual Honk
Mama was driving to pick up the older kids (Athan, Gianna, Me, and August) from LRSH, our homeschool group. She turned a sharp left and the car horn gave a little honk! She was surprised, she didn't push that button. It was something to forget about though, and she kept going. A minute later she turns another corner and the car honks. No, not just a little honk, once it started it didn't stop. The car was on automatic honk. Not a bunch of honks, but one loud honk that kept going. She pulled over to see if that would stop it......it kept going.....she pushed the honk button to see if that would stop it......it kept going......she turned off the car.....it stopped. Ok what next? She had to get to LRSH to get the kids. She turned the car back on, hopefully, HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.........There it was again. She would have to just drive as fast as she could to pick us up. She drove all the way to LRSH under lots of curious people's stares. She pulled into the parking lot and pulled out the key. Whew! Once she had got all the kids in the car and she was ready to go, she braced herself and turned the key. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO........She still had an orthidontist apointment and shopping ahead of her, and so far the automatic honk had not turned off. As she cruised down Pheonix Lake Rd., trying to ignore the stares pointed in their direction, she had a sudden thought! She was driving by her brother Raleigh's house, and guess what, he was a mechanic. : ) She turned up the road to their house, and asked if Raleigh was home. No. He was at the store with Cody. Then, thankfully, his car pulled up. No he didn't fix the continual honk that fast, but he did disconnect the wires so that it wouldn't honk the whole time. If we hadn't been driving by their house at that time and mama hadn't thought of that just at that time, or it hadn't been for Raleigh, we would still have automatic honk on our car. And that is the Tippett story for the day. Stay tuned next time for another episode on Tippett Story for the Day.
