Valentines Day & Snow!

Happy late St. Valentines Day wishes everybody!
We have had snow since it started snowing three days ago. By now it is so high that it goes over the top of your boots, even past it! We have had lots of fun making snowmen, snow angels, and of course sledding, sledding, sledding, and guess what..
..more sledding!
For St. Valentines Day my mom got a delicious recipe from another blog. What you do is you get pretzels, put Hershey's kisses on top of them, and then put them in the oven for five minutes. After they come out we pressed pink, white, and red m&m's on top. Yum! Yum! Those were really good. Watch out for pictures because when we get Picasa fixed, I will have boatloads of pictures for you!

Tippett story of the Day
The Continual Honk
Mama was driving to pick up the older kids (Athan, Gianna, Me, and August) from LRSH, our homeschool group. She turned a sharp left and the car horn gave a little honk! She was surprised, she didn't push that button. It was something to forget about though, and she kept going. A minute later she turns another corner and the car honks. No, not just a little honk, once it started it didn't stop. The car was on automatic honk. Not a bunch of honks, but one loud honk that kept going. She pulled over to see if that would stop it......it kept going.....she pushed the honk button to see if that would stop it......it kept going......she turned off the car.....it stopped. Ok what next? She had to get to LRSH to get the kids. She turned the car back on, hopefully, HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.........There it was again. She would have to just drive as fast as she could to pick us up. She drove all the way to LRSH under lots of curious people's stares. She pulled into the parking lot and pulled out the key. Whew! Once she had got all the kids in the car and she was ready to go, she braced herself and turned the key. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO........She still had an orthidontist apointment and shopping ahead of her, and so far the automatic honk had not turned off. As she cruised down Pheonix Lake Rd., trying to ignore the stares pointed in their direction, she had a sudden thought! She was driving by her brother Raleigh's house, and guess what, he was a mechanic. : ) She turned up the road to their house, and asked if Raleigh was home. No. He was at the store with Cody. Then, thankfully, his car pulled up. No he didn't fix the continual honk that fast, but he did disconnect the wires so that it wouldn't honk the whole time. If we hadn't been driving by their house at that time and mama hadn't thought of that just at that time, or it hadn't been for Raleigh, we would still have automatic honk on our car. And that is the Tippett story for the day. Stay tuned next time for another episode on Tippett Story for the Day.

busy

Bustle, bustle, rush, rush, I forgot my backpack, were are my shoes?
That has been life at our house recently, especially on Wednesday mornings. (That is the day we go to our homeshool group-from 8:45am to 3:00pm-or something like that.) But in the last few days it has been raining constantly, day and night. It is extremely cozy at nights though, with the wind howling and the rain pitter-pattering on the roof, while I am curled up under the blankets on my bed reading. my Mom thought of a good way to keep the younger kids quiet while they have to say inside while it is raining. She brought over the dollhouse that was hers when she was little from the storage shed. Lately if you can't find Mary Autumn anywhere, look in our room, and sure enough she will be laying on the floor in front of the dollhouse, absorbed in a game of her own imagination. One time I was reading my book, and I overheard part of her conversation-
Apparently the dollhouse couple are getting married-

"do you want to marry this man?"
"yes"
"do you want to marry this lady?"
"yes"
"you can kiss the bride"

I have no idea how she picked that up, but it was really cute. It would be fun to just sit there sometime and listen to her game.
We watched the Inauguration and I thought that it was very interesting. We pretty much had it on all day, and after the Inauguration he went to lunch, a parade, and in the evening he showed up at 10 of the dances they held!
Well I was up late reading my book last night and I'm tired so I'd better get to bed. Bye.

So Much to Say!

Hello everybody...I don't know where to start!
Well my last post was about me hoping for a white Christmas. We got one downpour of snow on Christmas, at church, but that was pretty much it. We had a great Christmas day! My mom has a tradition to make a chocolate ice cream cake for Christmas, and for as long as I can remember she has made one for Christmas day. Usually we have the cake in the afternoon which is what we did this year. Also I think it was either last year or the year before that that my mom has made a cheese cake also along with the chocolate cake. (By the way she loves cheesecake. : )
As soon as we had finally caught our breath, New Years appeared out of nowhere! Our friends, the Templeton's, from North Carolina, joined us at my Aunt and Uncle's house to celebrate the New Year.
There were a bunch of kids there...banging those pots as hard as they could, (some even broke some of the spoons that they were banging the pots with), so we must have been pretty loud! They even had those party poppers that you pull, and they BANG!
We had one week to settle down before...back to school again! Whew! What a schedule!
But it was a great time to celebrate with both friends and family, to bring on the New Year!
